Look 1: Persephone’s Promise

Through looking at folklore I created a work from the past, which followed the tale of persephone from ancient greek mythology. This story is very tied to nature and rich stories of the gods and the creation of seasons. Therefore I paired this oral lore with elements of the chiton (toga) that was worn at the time and altered it to be something with modern fastenings and recycled materials.

Look 2: Oracular

As well as this I was challenged to work on a group project for another class, creating the story together and creating one full look each. We created a story of a dystopian future, using alternative and distressed materials to bring these ideas into fruition. This piece that I made carries on oral lore through our ideas of the distant future wherein nature take back over. with this I used Hemp knit and bull denim with bleach dying through recycled lace.
